This was a backdated post for the month of May. I was looking thru friend's picture on some eateries and found this small gem - Betty's Midwest Kitchen which offers American food. What else after looking at their yummylicious picture, Hubby and I invited our usual 'Makan Kakis' aka CW and LYH for dinner. Note: Please come early if you don't want to wait as the restaurant has limited tables.

So we were there early around 6.20pm. Luckily for us, the restaurant was not packed yet. As we were seated, the diners crowd had started to come in. Phew phew! Lucky for us to be a bit early. The ambience in the restaurant was kinda homely. Pictures and paintings related to America were displayed there and did I mentioned that they served PORK as well. Yummy yummy..

Lemonade - RM 2.50

Root Beer (RM5) - it's recommended according to the menu but I had tasted it, nothing special. It's similar like any Root Beer served outside.

Dog Food aka Gravy Fries (RM7.50) - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It's so cheeselicious and delicious.

Classical Meatloaf (RM15) - recommended. It's tender and every bit of it was filled with Meat, Meat and Meat.

Pork Chop with C. Gravy (RM20) - CW commented it was okay.

Pork Chop with Apple Sauce (RM20) - LYH don't quite like the taste. Maybe because it was a bit sweet to his preference. For those who love apple crumble, the sauce tasted similar.

Jucy Lucy (RM13.50) - RECOMMENDED. Nice and juicy pork patty.

The verdict: Recommended for western food lovers who wanted a great meal without a 'damaging' price tag. I WILL COME FOR MORE!

Osaka Japanese Restaurant

We were constantly having chinese food since we have shifted to Setia Alam. For a change, we opted for Japanese food as our lunch over the weekend. Since I had google for recommended Japanese food in Klang and found Osaka Japanese Restaurant, we decided to give this place a try. Osaka Japanese Restaurant was located in Bandar Baru Klang, just next to the HSBC Bank.

Once we were arrived, we were greeted by their friendly staffs. The restaurant was not too big in size but it was still cosy enough for us. After looking thru their menus, we had ordered quite a number of items to try out. Each of us had ordered a bento set, mine (Sashimi & Tempura Bento Set) and Hubby's (Unagi Bento Set). Both set comes with Chawan Mushi and also Dessert. The other items that we had ordered were their Chef recommendation sushi - Black Dragon and also Soft Shell Crab Sushi.

Overall, the food items are fresh and delicious. Will definitely go for next visit when we were craving for some nice Japanese food in the neighbourhood. By the way, they seems to have 10% discounts for all the food items. For those who stays in this area and would love to try out some decent Japanese food, do give it a try.

Beng Shen Hand Made Mee Suah

As I was browsing thru other food blogger's blog searching for new things to eat in Klang, I had came across this place and I was attracted and tempted to try it out. So here we go, venturing into Kapar searching for this place which specialised on Mee Suah; something that I used to dislike in a younger age and started to grow fond of for the past few years. So older people were very right on their saying, 'You might dislike certain food while you're young and turn out to love them when you're older'.

Restoran Beng Shen was quite easy to be located. Look for landmark like Carrefour (on your right) and Bata (on your left). After you passed both of the place, keep to your right, travel around 5 mins plus, you should be able to see the place. The restaurant was situated just at the road side.

We had ordered 2 different types of Mee Suah (longevity noodles); Bak Kut Teh and Chicken Wine Mee Suah. Both version was delicious and suited my taste buds. The Bak Kut Teh soup compliment well with the Mee Suah. The Bak Kut Teh Mee Suah was served with lots of mushrooms, fu chuk, and of course juicy and tender pork meat. The chicken wine soup was flavourful and aromatic with wine and the right amount of ginger. Their Mee Suah was slightly different from the Mee Suah found outside, the noodle served was rather thick and yet very smooth.

All of these items only cost us RM25.5o inclusive of 2 herbal drinks. Their serving portion was quite big. Definitely good value for money. So for those who are interested to try it out, do give them a call first to check out whether they are open since it's located in Kapar. (kinda far for those who come from PJ and etc.)

We had been a regular patron to this place when we were staying in Kota Damansara. Since moving to our new place, it's been quite some time since our last visit. I had never take any pictures of the food in this favourite makan place of mine. I am a Pan Mee lover and also a spicy food lover. So this restaurant offers both prerequisite requirement of the type of food I loved.

They offered a few types of Pan Mee (dry, soup, and curry if I remember correctly) and some side dishes like dumplings and tofu.

A bowl of soup with green leafy vege for those who ordered dry version Pan Mee.

They served Soupy Pan Mee too. For the adventurous ones, you can actually drop some chilli flakes on the soup. That's what Hubby always do. The soup will end up like a red ocean! Super super hot!

Put a spoonful (or two or even three) of chilli flakes on the Pan Mee.

Tossed with the chilli flakes, there you go - SUPER SPICY CHILLI PAN MEE

Pasta Zanmai

It was a boring Sunday afternoon where both of us (Hubby and I) was 'dying' of boredom in our house. Finally we gave a call to our regular 'makan kakis' to initiate some activities (of course it is related to EATING and FOOD) on a hot and boring Sunday. So we had ended up in One Utama for some air-conditioned environment since it was super hot that day. For a change, we had opted for Japanese food. Our destination was Pasta Zanmai.

We were practically spoilt for choices. Too many varieties of dishes on the menu. After cracking our head for more than 10 minutes deciding on what to ordered, here's the choices of our meals for that afternoon:

Unagi with Omelette Rice Set - LYH's choice.

CW had ordered Mini Ebi Tempura No Gomadare Pata to Mini Unagi Rice which consist of as below:

Mini Ebi Tempura with some pasta as side dish.

Unagi Rice as main dish.

Hubby and I had ordered set meals too. It consists of Miso soup and salad. I wasn't bothered to captured both of them thus no pictures taken on this two items.

Fried Ebi Curry Rice - Hubby's choice. Hubby was very delighted with the crispiness of the Fried Ebi and the aromatic curry. THUMBS UP from him.

Chicken and Mushroom Creamy Sauce Pasta - my choice. Lots of mushrooms inside this pasta. It was kinda mediocre in my opinion.

We had a new year gathering among our Form Six friends in Fullhouse Lifestore and Cafe in Sunway Pyramid. Basically this is a place which is worth to visit especially for those who love nice and beautiful decorated restaurant. This restaurant resembled the settings of an apartment. Kinda cosy and a good place for friends to enjoy and mingle around. Their first outlet was located in NZX in Ara Damansara. I had posted some pictures of the decors available in this lovely place.

Mannequins wearing clothes that is for sale in this cafe. Good news for shopaholic, they can eat and shop at the same time.

They have set lunch too. Value for money but only applicable on weekdays.

Their food was pretty decent but we felt that their serving was a bit small. In terms of food presentation wise, it is at par with those fine dining places. Pricing wise was slightly on the expensive range but I guess it was rather worthy due to the ambience of the place.
