Stir-fried Siew Yoke with Garlic

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Dad and Mum had order a whole roasted pig for our house warming party back in Kuantan. The pork seller came with the whole roasted pig and cut them into pieces in our house. As the guy came to our house, I was busy helping in the kitchen and totally forgotten to snap the picture of the whole roasted pig. When I actually remember about it, it was kinda too late coz the guy had actually cut some parts of the roasted pig. Too bad... :( The following are some pictures captured by Hubby while the guy was doing his job of cutting them into pieces so that my parents can distribute the meat to relatives and friends when they arrive at our house for the party.

Yummy yummy Siew Yoke

Of coz, I requested some of the Siew Yoke from my Mum for us to take back to KL. I was always tempted to try to make this type of Siew Yoke dish - Stir Fry Siew Yoke with Garlic. Since the meat itself was already marinated with special spices, making this dish is actually just enhancing or adding flavours to it. I had used oyster sauce, dark soy sauce and some rock sugar to cook the meat. End result - we had garlicky sweet taste Siew Yoke. YUM YUM! TAMBAH SATU NASI LAGI!

My version of stir fry Siew Yoke with Garlic with some tips from Mum

Ingredients

Siew Yoke (Roast Pork)
6 cloves garlic, minced
4 slices ginger
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
rock sugar to taste

Methods
  1. Heat up wok with oil. Add in garlic and ginger. Stir fry till fragrant.
  2. Add in Siew Yoke and stir fry.
  3. Add in the rest of the seasoning. Continue to stir fry till all well mixed and rock sugar melted.
  4. Dish up and serve hot.
